In
1984, Brandon was in the 9th grade and was very self-conscious of
the spaces between his teeth. He was referred to an orthodontist who
referred Brandon back to our office saying that since Brandon was
a big boy with small teeth, closing the spaces with braces would only
accentuate his small teeth and recommended that we enlarge his teeth
with resin bonding. Treatment was done without anesthetic. Brandon
played four years of high school football without requiring re-treatment,
and is now a college graduate and a successful businessman in California. |

Annette
presented in our office in 1984 wanting to do something about the
gap between her two front teeth. Suggestions she received prior to
coming to our office included a removable denture with an extra tooth
to fill the gap, a fixed bridge, also with an extra tooth, or two
large crowns. Our suggestion was to do minor orthodontics and to close
the gap using resins to reshape her teeth. This was done without shaving
her teeth and without anesthesia. Sixteen years later, she has not
had further treatment on these teeth. |

Shaheed
also presented in our office, in 1985, with a similar problem but
with earlier treatment involving the enlargement of his two front
teeth. His complaint was that his front teeth were too large. Our
solution was to treat his condition in a similar manner, again with
resins and without anesthesia. |

In
1988, Alice presented with a complaint that her smile was uneven,
her two front teeth were too large and her teeth were discolored.
We solved her problem with porcelain veneers, which she has been very
happy with since. |

Also
in 1988, Ele presented with discolored teeth and a sunken-in lateral
incisor. Our solution was porcelain veneers, which we used to straighten
her teeth as well as lighten the shade of her teeth. Today, she is
still very happy with the results. |

Cary
presented in 1987 with unnatural lateral incisors. One was terribly
discolored and the other out of position. His other teeth were fine
so our solution was to reshape his two lateral incisors and cover
the front surfaces with porcelain veneers. |

Allen's
teeth were worn due to bruxing (grinding) and were very sensitive
to chewing. We restored his teeth with porcelain crowns and veneers. |

Pam's
teeth were irregular in size and looked like "caps". We replace these
caps with all porcelain, natural appearing crowns. |

Amalgam restorations can be replaced very conservatively with resin
based or porcelain type restorations. These restorations are bonded
onto the tooth, which helps to strengthen teeth as well as restore
the natural look of teeth. |
